The Practitioners Seminar is coordinated by Dr. Nestor Parolya together with Prof. Antonis Papapantoleon at TU Delft.
It brings practitioners from firms such as IMC, Optiver, Maven Securities, Van Lanschot Kempen among others into direct interaction with students in the Finance Minor and the MSc Applied Mathematics Financial Engineering track.
The seminar is designed as a structured form of practitioner engagement closely linked to education. Practitioners give short lectures and contribute to challenge-based sessions built around realistic cases from industry.
This seminar forms an ongoing connection between TU Delft education and professional practice. It is also an important part of the long-term vision for the minor: not as an add-on, but as a structural component through which students see how advanced quantitative methods are used in practice and through which external partners remain actively connected to the programme.
In May 2026, IMC will visit TU Delft for a three-part practitioners seminar series focused on trading, decision-making and competition.

This series is designed to connect theory with practice. Students engage with applied decision-making in trading and work with concepts such as probability, expected value and risk in a competitive setting.

The session focused on risk management in real financial institutions and consulting projects, and was organised for students interested in financial engineering, quantitative finance and risk management.
