Matthias Möller

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics section Numerical Analysis at TU Delft and the Scientific Director of the Delft Institute for Computational Science and Engineering. Computational Science and Engineering is an interdisciplinary field that brings together applied mathematics, computer sciences, and engineering disciplines to solve challenging real-world problems.

My research centers on the development of computational methods for numerical simulation and design optimization. I work at the intersection of classical scientific computing and emerging hardware-accelerated paradigms, with a focus on scientific machine learning, quantum computing, and quantum-inspired methods.

My group's current research foci are:

  • Quantum-accelerated scientific computing, especially, quantum computational fluid dynamics based on the lattice Boltzmann method. Follow the QCFD Lab on LinkedIn and GitHub.
  • Integration of physics-informed machine learning into the isogeometric analysis paradigm to enable responsive design-through-analysis workflows. Follow us on GitHub: IGANets and DTATools .
